This is important.

The Airforce just tested an Ai piloted F16 during a combat simulation against one of the most experienced human fighter pilots in the world. The Ai performance was impressive.

One slightly overlooked aspect was the mention of piloting fighters without GPS.

On that note:

"last year, the Air Force flew an AI program on a laptop strapped to the floor of a C-17 military cargo plane to work on an alternative solution using the Earth’s magnetic fields. The results were very interesting."

Throughout the flights and extensive data analysis, the AI learned to distinguish between signals to disregard and those to follow, and the results “were very, very impressive,” said Col. Garry Floyd, director for the Department of Air Force-MIT Artificial Intelligence Accelerator program.

​“We’re talking tactical airdrop quality,”* he said.

A fighter jet that can navigate to complete a mission WITHOUT GPS. This means so much more than AiTopGun.

A World Without Data

Think about it.

What if your brain held every geological, meteorological & political piece of data. Every, single chunk.

• You would 'know' directions to any point on the planet - in 3 Dimensions. Without satellites or GPS.
• You would 'know' weather patterns for every continent, down to the square foot, in real time. Without the Weather Channel.
• You would, in essence, 'know' how people and your environment would respond to your actions moving from knowing the future to creating the future.

The simple ability to read and understand "...the Earth’s magnetic fields..." tells us Ai interfaces and responds to the world around it, in real time.
Today.

​For all the whizbang around LLMs and Ai, what we see today is NOTHING compared to what our military has been experimenting with for decades.

What dreams may come? The event is this side of the horizon, Today's future is cast in all our yesterdays.
