Ai will and is replacing the C-Suite. See. I told you so.

📰 I guess if the NY Times says it...

I made the prediction back in March of 2023, documented it later, 1/1/2024.

Ai Prediction #5, A World Without C-Levels.

"yeah, but Artificial Intelligence will never replace the Chief Executive Officer." So I asked him, a CEO, "What do you do on a daily?" he described it. Then I queried, "So, what you described is your process and workflow, correct?" - NorthStar Ai

David Streitfeld of The New York Times penned another good read. This tome supports one of my more, how should I say, 'edgy' suggestions: Ai Prediction #5, A World Without C-Levels.

“In struggling companies, you’ll be replacing operational management first but probably keep a few humans to think beyond the machines,” said Saul J. Berman, a former senior consulting partner with IBM.  - NYT

The idea hit me during a conversation I had with a colleague, advisor, early adapter and past President at Sharp, Ed McLaughlin. We were exchanging ideas around ChatGPT 3.5 and the lack of business cases.

I off handedly said, "Ai takes any, and all processes, measures against every process before it, updates and can take action. Ai will replace CEOs."

After all, what does a CEO do but make process based decisions?🤔

Needless to say, Ed, a CEO, was not enthused.

A year has pasted since that primary chat.

Nearly half — 47 percent — of the executives surveyed said they believed “most” or “all” of the chief executive role should be completely automated or replaced by A.I. - NYT

And it's already taking place - in China:

The Chinese online game company NetDragon Websoft, which has 5,000 employees, appointed what it calls an “A.I.-driven rotating C.E.O.” named Tang Yu in 2022. “We believe A.I. is the future of corporate management,” said the company’s founder, Dejian Liu,” -NYT

Of course another one of my goofy ideas is "..there is no such thing as originality, just iteration..." so it is not shocking that somebody before me envisioned a world without a C-level.

"In 30 years, a robot will likely be on the cover of Time Magazine as the best CEO," - J. Ma

Back in 2017, Jack Ma, Alibaba founder made the same prediction, albeit 23 years off.

It's not so important that my vision WAS spot on - it's what I see TODAY for TOMORROW.

Try this one on for size, Ai Prediction #10, Ai will Prove or Disprove All Our Theories or how about Ai Prediction #6, A World Where Art & Science Are One?

What's more, like all truly great advances, it will become invisible - blended so deeply into our existence we no longer notice or qualify it's existence. "Artificial intelligence", becomes simply Intelligence.- NorthStar Ai
There are currently 18 predictions; the list stared at 10.

Here are a few:

  • A world without programmers
  • A World without Apps.
  • A World without Windows.
  • A World where everyone has their own Ai.
  • A World with No CxO's.
  • A World where art and science are one.

Here.

What do YOU see?

The confirmations keep coming in: Greg's Ai Prediction #5, A World Without C-Levels

"CEOS COULD EASILY BE REPLACED WITH AI, EXPERTS ARGUE"

Yeah, we said this a year ago -https://lnkd.in/ewftVxMy

Forget about 'corporate culture' or 'face to face collaboration' or 'productivity is better with you in your cube'. The REAL ISSUE that the C-Suite has known since the beginning of the lock-downs, accelerated with the onslaught of Ai, it CxO's are old fashioned, out of date, managers of resources, exploiters of their history and now, irrelevant.

The RIFs include ALL LEVELS - from the loading dock, to the executive washroom.

The most ironic and delicious aspect? They/We trained our/their replacements. We have seen the Modern Day Prometheus and It is Us.
