Kentucky Sends Interstellar Invite: I Hope They Like Bourbon

You cannot make this stuff up. 

First we had the Navy pilots and the Tic Tac UFOs, raising few eyebrows.

Then our esteemed congress people discussed UFOs and admitted that UAPs are real with little or no fanfare. Meh.

Today, the State of Lexington sent a laser beam into space with an open invitation to visit horse farms and drink bourbon. Wait, what?

Of course, in a phrase, this is marketing genius. 

This image was sent. Of course, you will notice the chemical representation of "Water & Ethanol" - ahem...yeah, throw in some charred oak, a few years and you've got bourbon.  More horses than humans, bourbon and dopamine.  Forget D.C., land in Lexington.

​VisitLEX, in a bold move, has launched an advertising campaign targeting extraterrestrial travelers. Collaborating with a team of scientists and experts, they transmitted a message to potentially habitable planets in the TRAPPIST-1 solar system, 40 light years away. This message, sent from Kentucky Horse Park, showcases the best of Lexington, including its landscapes, hospitality, food, bourbon, music, and art.

Lexington's president, Mary Quinn Ramer, expresses her belief that the city is the best place on Earth for extraterrestrials to explore. The campaign, embracing Lexington’s rich offerings and friendliness, also highlights the city’s innovative marketing strategies, previously seen in projects like Horse Kicks and The Queen’s Gambit hotel room.

Dr. Robert Lodder, a Lexington native and expert in various fields, led the team effort for this interstellar message. The message includes photos of Lexington, audio from blues musician Tee Dee Young, and a coded bitmap image featuring elements of life, local landscapes, and molecular structures of water, bourbon, and dopamine.

Dr. Andrew Byrd, a linguistics expert involved in the project, emphasizes the importance of the bitmap image in conveying the essence of Lexington. This initiative showcases VisitLEX's forward-thinking approach, aiming to position Lexington as a pioneer in interstellar travel marketing.
