Just last week, I came out with my Ai Predictions. 

The fifth element,  "A World with No CxO's - Ai can do what your VP of HR, and CEO does every day, in less time, without mistakes and cheaper.​"  is not some pie in the sky, baseless idea. It is happening.

See I told you so.

Stop and think.  In light of today's work from anywhere idea is moving from a 'nice to have' to a 'I'm never going back to an office ever again', full fledged movement, Ai is not only picking up the slack in the cube farm, but poised to eliminate the once holly, C-Suite.  Indeed, the lines have always been there, but today, large companies like IBM, JP Morgan, UPS(12,000), Bloomberg, Xerox(15% of sales) and Boeing. 

​In an odd spin, some companies that are demanding back to the cubes, have recently laid off thousands.

What does this indicate?  Today, Ai is hitting the frontline knowledge workers and management. Tomorrow, upper management and the C-Suite.



​All because of Ai.

This is happening right now.  Layoffs, the disdain for working in an office, the economic transformation, and inefficient processes are stirred by the biggest swizzle stick, ever: Artificial Intelligence.  The Cocktail of Life.

  • February 1, 2024 – Deutsche Bank to layoff 3,500 jobs and reward shareholders.
  • January 31, 2024 – UPS will cut 12,000 jobs as part of a bid to save US$1 billion in costs.
  • January 30, 2024 – American Airlines to lay off 656 workers as it consolidates customer support.
  • January 29, 2024 – iRobot, vacuum maker to lay off 350 employees.
  • January 27, 2024 – Levi Strauss will lay off 10%-15% of corporate workers.
While these assertions might seem hyperbolic, they are grounded in the transformative impact AI has already had across various industries.
Heady subject, so I Prompted my GPT, Ai, Selling, Bourbon & You: "I am seeking insight on the productivity of Ai today. there have been statements that 4 people can now do the work of ten, and a 1 person, 1 billion dollar company. what do you think? are these claims and statements plausible?  This is what came back:

Enhanced Productivity through AI

​AI and automation technologies have indeed revolutionized productivity by automating routine tasks, optimizing workflows, and enabling data-driven decision-making. In sectors such as manufacturing, finance, and customer service, AI-driven tools have significantly reduced the need for human intervention in repetitive tasks, allowing human workers to focus on more complex, creative, and strategic activities. This shift can lead to scenarios where fewer people are needed to accomplish the same amount of work, albeit with a few caveats.

The Concept of a 1 Person, 1 Billion-Dollar Company

The idea of a single person running a billion-dollar company with the aid of AI is an extreme extrapolation of AI's potential. Currently, AI can automate processes, provide insights, and even interact with customers to a degree. However, running a large-scale business involves complex, multifaceted challenges that extend beyond what AI can manage, including strategic decision-making, leadership, and human relationships. The notion might be more illustrative of AI's potential to significantly lower the barriers to scaling up operations rather than a literal prediction of future business structures.
The average employee returning to the office spends $561 per month on transportation, additional child and pet care, and domestic assistance. That is comparable to the average two-person household’s grocery bill in the U.S. for the entire month. - Fortune
​Considerations and Limitations
  • Complex Decision-Making: AI, especially through LLMs, is indeed designed to learn and optimize processes, including some decision-making tasks. However, many business decisions require understanding of context, emotional intelligence, and ethical considerations that AI currently cannot fully replicate.
  • Creativity and Innovation: AI can support and even inspire creative processes, but the spark of innovation, especially in fields requiring novel ideas and solutions, remains a distinctly human trait.
  • Ethical and Societal Impacts: The deployment of AI raises significant ethical questions, including job displacement, privacy concerns, and the potential for bias in AI-driven decisions. The C-suite and other leadership positions will likely evolve to address these challenges, balancing AI's capabilities with its societal impacts.
The Future of Work with AIThe future of work with AI is not about replacing humans but augmenting human capabilities with AI's efficiency and data processing power. The most likely scenario is a hybrid model where AI handles operational efficiencies, and humans focus on areas requiring emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving, and ethical oversight.

While statements about AI dramatically enhancing productivity reflect real potential, they also simplify the complex interplay between technology, human judgment, and societal needs. The future will likely see AI as a powerful tool in the business arsenal, transforming how work is done and what roles humans play in the economy. The focus should be on leveraging AI to augment human capabilities, ensure ethical use, and address the societal implications of rapid technological change.
